To apply for General Medicine or Dental Medicine at UPJŠ in Košice, applicants must have completed secondary school education. The entrance exam is a written multiple-choice test in Biology and Chemistry, combined into one exam paper.

📝 Exam Format
Each question in the real entrance exam has 4 answer options: A, B, C, D. For each question, 0 to 4 answers may be correct. UPJŠ also states that no periodic table, calculator, or other reference materials are necessary.

In the Biology and Chemistry documents available on this website, each question contains 8 possible answer options:
A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H
Several of these options may be correct. Sometimes 2 answers are correct, sometimes 3 or even 4.
However, in the actual entrance exam, the same question will appear with only 4 answer options instead of 8.
The exam system randomly selects 4 options from the original 8, and you must choose the correct answers from those 4.
The question itself does not change — only the number of answer choices is reduced.

Each question is worth 0 to 4 points, so the maximum score is:

The acceptance pass mark for General Medicine and Dental Medicine is usually around 75%. On an 800-point exam, that is approximately 600 points.

🎯 How to Think About Your Score
You do not need full marks to pass. Your final result is based on your combined Biology + Chemistry score, so students can compensate for a weaker result in one subject with a stronger result in the other. This follows directly from the official 800-point combined scoring system.
